    Wrinkles

How concerned should I be about my pugs face/wrinkles having an odor? We take our pug to the groomers on a regular basis and I wipe his face and wrinkles once a week or so. Lately, his face has this odor and I am worried that he could get an infection. Is this possible? Should I take him to our vet?

You might try washing the wrinkles more frequently. If the odor is bad you may want to have a vet check him. It is possible to get a yeast infection in that area and that could be what is causing the odor.

    Good Luck!

My Cookie had problems with her wrinkles her entire life, we just kept them dry and applied the ointment our Vet provided and that prevented any infections.  Her little wrinkles were so tight that if moisture got in them it would not dry on it's own.

Thanks for your responses! Today his face does not smell as bad, so maybe I am being paranoid! I still plan to take him to the vet this week, just in case.

    Re: Wrinkles

Just wanted to post an update about PJ's wrinkles. We took him to the vet and found out he does have a yeast infection. They prescribed Tresaderm drops twice per day and Pledgets wipes once per day.  Other than PJ not enjoying us giving him the drops, he is doing better. Thank you for your comments!

I use Malaseb Pledgets on Troopers wrinkles as needed which might be once every other week. You can also order it online on Amazon (seems like a better price).
