DFW Pug Rescue Club, Inc. has one main mission. To rescue all pugs in Texas regardless of age or physical condition. In the time of our existence, we have cared for and placed many pugs into loving homes. All of this was made possible with the help of our members and volunteers.
It is important to note a few things about adopting a pug. All rescue pugs MUST be spayed or neutered and we rarely get puppies. Many times the pugs we receive in rescue are given up because they were not properly house trained or have on-going medical problems.
Please understand that we rarely get a "perfect" pug. One of the biggest challenges facing DFW Pug Rescue Club, Inc., is locating the right adoption family for the pugs that we rescue. We have learned that by the time we receive and process an application (usually 5 days), the candidate goes out and purchases a pug. While this is their choice, they are literately saving a life by adopting a rescue pug.
DFW Pug Rescue Club, Inc., has three major brances to service the entire State of Texas; Austin -- Dallas / Fort Worth -- Houston. DFW Pug Rescue Club does not ship pugs so the adopting family will need to travel to one of these three locations to pick up their pug once their application has been received, reviewed, and processed.
Things to consider: We rescue more males than females, more fawns than blacks, more mature pugs than puppies (we very seldom rescue puppies), and every once in a while we rescue a senior pug. If you receive our newsletter, there was an article on senior pugs in our most recent issue.
Thank you for helping save a life (pug) by supporting your local rescue organization(s). We can't predict how long the wait will be, but we do adopt immediately after rescue and medical treatment.
