Welcome to the wonderful world of pugs!

Pugs Available In DFW

  • AMY

Meet Amy.  She is about 5-6 years old and a very active little girl will limited vision.  She is a definite lap girl and really strives to please her human.  She wants to be where you are at at all times .  Amy would do well in a home where someone is home a lot but will probably do well in most any enviroment.  Amy has that real Pug charm and would love to invade your home.  She is not asking much just a family that will love her and make sure she is safe.  Thanks for looking.

  • CHLOE & LILLY

    BONDED PAIR NEED HOME TOGETHER

This my friends is Chloe (fawn) and Lilly (black) age 6 and 8 years old.  They were surrendered to DFWPRC and would like to stay together if at all possible.  Both appear to be in great physical condition but are currently being checked out by our Doc to be sure.  Chloe loves to play ball and is the more active of the two while Lilly prefers to lay around and have her minions wait on her.  if you were considering two Pugs this is a great way to start off with a pair that are known to get along right down to sleeping together.  please consider this pair for your home...Thanks for looking.

  • SNOOKIE

My name is Snookie and I seem to have lost my family.  Not sure how i ended up in animal control but I did and nobody came looking for me.  As soon as my jail time was up DFWPRC was there ready to bail me out.  I was so scared and very glad to end up with a nice lady who I am sure was a Pug person.  She took me straight to the Doctors office where I have been the past couple of days.  They are nice here and got me all fixed up.  the nice Doctor told the people here that I am between 1 and 1 and 1/2 yrs old.  I am very healthy according to Doc and ready for a new forever home.  I need a family that is going to make sure I do not end up back in the pound and will love me for the little Princess I am.  They say i will not last long here that there is a demand for Diva's like me.  Better hurry...you snooze you lose!!! See Ya!

  • Baldwin

BALDWIN IS AT OUR AUSTIN LOCATION

Baldwin is another example of what happens when
demodectic mange goes untreated.  This very
treatable and non-contagious form of mange can be
deadly when left to spread and cause secondary
infections.  Baldwin¢s case is so severe that the
facial swelling has caused his tear ducts to cease
tear production and he has also developed entropion
(inverted eyelids).  Baldwin came into a local
kill shelter as a stray.  His family eventually
found him but decided they could not care for him.
When we picked him up he was covered in fleas,
ticks and mud.  He has been hospitalized for the
past week but should be ready to go into foster
care in the next few days.  Baldwin is about a
year old and with vigilant treatment and a little
time he should recover completely.  He is obviously
uncomfortable but he greets everyone with wags
and kisses.  Please consider a donation in
     Baldwin's name.

  • TUTU & CATO - Adoption Pending

BONDED PAIR MUST BE PLACED TOGETHER NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Every now and then we get a pair of bonded Pugs and we need to adopt them out together.  Cato & Tutu are very bonded and it would not be a good thing to break them up...so these two are being offered as a pair only.  If you are not in a position to take them both then please look for another Pug as we will not break these two up.  The story about them below was written by the family that surrendered them to us.  These two darlings are 3 years old.  Thanks for looking!

Our names are Tutu and Cato. We are both 3 years
     old and come with our
papers. We come in pairs and demand to not be
     separated because we are
buddies/com padres! We are both loving companions
     and love to be around
people. We both enjoy the outdoors and we are
     crate trained. Awesome, right!
We share our crate because like I said, we are
     buddies!

We are looking for a home that can devote their
time to us, take us on longs
walks and play with us. Our current owners have
     been traveling a lot more
lately and are expecting a baby so their scared
they won't be up for the
challenge of taking care of us both too. We
understand and are sadden but we
are also very excited to get with a family who is
     ready for us.

  • Baxter

Meet Baxter.  He is a 3 year old good looking guy.  Baxter came to us from his previous owner cause they could not take care of him.  His foster mom says he is really a sweet guy.  He had a rough start with us as he had severe heart worms and it took awhile to get them cured. That is all behind us now and Baxter is ready to go to his forever home.  He craves attention in true Pug fashion.  He wants to be with his humans at all times and is a definite lap Pug.  Please consider Baxter for you home.

  • JOE

My name is Joe the Pug and I am homeless.  They said I am about 8 years old and have had a hard life.  I was forced to live outdoors and nobody cared if I had water and food on a regular basis.  I was finally taken to the Humane Society and dumped there.  That is when my life took a turn for the upside.  I was taken very quickly to this wonderful doctor who said he would fix what was broken and help me feel better.  I have a few things going on so Dr G is running a few test to see what we need to do.  If you think you might give me a placew indoors to live the rest of my life I promise to be a good companion and an even better housemate.  I may need a little training but I am very eager to learn...please consider me.  Thanks for taking the time to read my story.  Joe!

  • LAMONT

Hi people my name is Lamont and I am in search of a new home.  I ran away from my last one because they were not paying any attention to me.  They probably still have not missed me.  I was picked up by the dog catcher and taken to a place they hold you for your owners to find you.  I thought fat chance of my people showing up.  They didn't as i thought and I ended up with these nice folks here in rescue.  I am 5-6 years old and need a place that will love me.  I had those nasty heart worms but the good Doc took care of that and here I am ready to go.  If you think you might want a big teddy bear to love on then I am your guy.  With a good diet and some good old fashion TLC I will look like a million bucks in time for Pug-O-Ween.  Please consider me for your home.  Thanks for looking.

  • Sleepy

Hello Pug People it seems like every week there is a new challenge for us here in rescue even before we solve the previous one.  Sleepy is a very young 1-2 year old fawn male who was in an animal shelter let's just say in a small town south of here.  Another rescue group was walking the shelter and saw Sleepy just laying there.  When they inquired about him they were told he had not eaten or drank in over three days yet they just let him lay in the kennel.  These nice ladies pulled him and called me right away seeking our help.  I quickly told them to do whatever was necessary to stabilize him then we would transport him to Dr Gumfory.  They got him to a horse vet in the area and he got him where we could transport him on Friday.  He arrived at Westcreek in terrible shape weighing in at 9 pounds(about half his normal weight).  He had bloody diarrhea and still would not eat.  Dr Gumfory went to work on him and I am happy to say the diarrhea is gone and he is now eating and drinking.  Next we found out he has heart worms.  As soon as he is able he will be transported to one of our experienced foster homes to put on some much needed weight so we can attack his heart worms and finally a neuter.  The photo we have is really disgusting so it will not be published for the public.  We will shot better photos when he perks up some and post them here.  Keep little Sleepy in your thoughts and I am sure the powers that be will prevail and Sleepy will again be the happy Pug he probably once was.  Thanks for reading about Sleepy.  If you would like to donate to his care please do so as he will appreciate it.

  • Big Mo - Adoption Pending

Big Mo went to West Creek today, and he is heartworm negative! Yay!
He had all of his shots, and got his nails trimmed. He looks quite
    dapper.

He really is big!! He weighs 33 lbs. He should probably weigh 23-25
lbs. He is 5 years old. Already neutered. Very handsome. He has
a little bit of an ear infection in each ear, but with Otomax applied
daily, his ears should clear up quickly.

He is huge, but he is very, very sweet and very polite. He is really
easy to have around. He just likes to hang out with people and other
dogs. He is also playful and loves to run with the other dogs. He
loves car rides, and he is an excellent co-pilot.

He's a vocal pug in that he screams when I come in the front door
after I have been gone for a while. It cracks me up! He is also a
heavy breather, but once he relaxes, his breathing is quiet. In
fact, he hardly snores at all, which was a nice surprise.

He is not used to eating dog food, nor is he used to eating out of a
dog bowl. But, he is coming around to the idea. I will explain my
method to his new family. He does not like to be crated. He knows
how to use a dog door.

Big Mo likes it here, but he really wants his own permanent family.
He has been moved around every couple of years, so he would like a
forever family. Kids are fine, and other animals (including cats)
    are fine.

  • WE HAVE PUPPIES

    WE HAVE PUPPIES

A few weeks ago there was a puppy mill shut down and we were awarded some of the dogs.  There were two Pugs that had a total of 10 puppies.  We inquired about the father and we were told there was not a male Pug on the property.  There was however several male French Bulldogs.  It was later determined that these breeders and I use that term loosely were breeding designer dogs...half Pug half French Bull Dog.  All of these puppies have a French Bull Dog father and a pure Pug mother and these little guys all had their tails docked before we got them.  The puppies are healthy and will be ready in a few weeks.  The photos we have are just a random sample of both litters.  If you think you might be interested in one of these really cute puppies please fill out an application today.  The fee will be $300.  We have 4 boys and 6 girls.  Better hurry!!!

  • Jean Claude

Move over guys the Cajun Jean Claude has arrived in the great state of Texas.  I am from Louisiana and I need a new place to call home.  I was sprung from jail there and told to get myself out of Louisiana by sundown.  My crime.....I am just to damn cute..... I am about 3 yrs old and would love to teach you hoe to talk Cajun or maybe you could just teach me Texan either way I am available and would like to be in your home real soon.  You can call me JC for short when you write my name on the application.  Please  hurry so we can get started on our bonding.

  • Lolliepop

Greetings potential Pug owners.  My name is Lolliepop and i am in search of my forever home.  I was in a doggie jail when these nice folks came and bailed me out with a promise that they would never see me again.  They took me straight to the Doc as I was really itching.  The good Doc said from just a quick look it was probably a flea allergy but that I would be more throughly examined tomorrow.  I am a sweet middle aged gal that loves attention and I give lots of Pug kisses.  If you are looking for a Pug to spoil then look no further as I am your princess  in waiting.   I should be ready to go to my new home in a day or so.  Please ask for me on an application today.  Thanks!!!!

  • Bubba

Good day my name is Bubba and I am homeless and crave a new family that will make the center of attention.  I was running the streets for a few days before this nice lady took me in and tried to find my owner.  After several days of looking she said I had to go so DFWPRC was called.  They came and whisked me off to the Doc to get examined and "fixed".  While I was in the home of one of these nice people they determined I was housebroken and also underweight.  So I need a family that will keep me safely indoors and feed me a good diet but most of all just love me.  I am middle aged so have lots of time left for us to have a wonderful life.  Please ask for me on an application today.  Thanks for looking.

  • Heavenly

Hello my name is Heavenly and I am one scared little girl.  My Mama that I have had for the past 6 years decided that she could no longer care for me so she gave me to these folks.  I am a little girl angel of 6-7 years old and I have very limited vision.  The Doc said as long as I get a family that will continue with daily eye drops then I should be OK for awhile.  I am very sweet and just want someone to love me and help me through this period in my life.  I am housebroken, weigh about 18 pounds, and really need a place to hang my harness for the next 5-6 years.  Please consider me and I promise to make you a proud Pug owner.

    UPDATE

My foster mom said to tell everyone that I am not blind and get around very well  I love and crave attention and really would like to have a new family of my very own.  Iam housebroken and just waiting for the phone to ring that says I have a new family.  Please hurry!
